The automotive industry is going through a lot of changes lately due to popularity of EVs in various regions around the globe including America, Europe and other continents. This shift is due to carbon emission from non – electric cars.

Huge number of electric vehicles are lined up to be launched in 2023 as experts are predicting year 2023 would belong to Electric cars. Also, there would be huge scope of hybrid cars which would be running on both on electric as well as gasoline thereby enhancing fuel efficiency of the traditional cars.

The launch of huge number of EVs would give flexibility to consumer as well to choose for an alternative electric car which would fit their demands.

Let’s rundown through list of some of the potential EVs which would be launched in upcoming months which are worth waiting for. Also note that prices are estimate for each of the models and would be accurate only once launched.

1.BMW i5

The 8th generation BMW 5 series is expected to be launched in 2023 in US market. BMW i5 would be a pure electric car and would be competing against Tesla, Audi, Lucid, Nio in the segment. This is the most competitive EV segment where all the major electric car manufacturers have their presence.

The manufacturing of BMW i5 is taking place in Germany plant and is expected to arrive in US market in mid of 2023.

As per BMW reports, this model will feature 3 variants. The base model might sport 250 kW of motor, whereas the other variants may have an additional set of motors which would give an additional power to the EV. Also, the expected range of BMW i5 electric car would be around 300 miles.

Expected Date of Sale: Mid of 2023

2. Cadillac Lyric

Cadillac lyric is the first all-electric vehicle from the brand. It features state of the art technology in infotainment system, next generation interiors, superb safety features and stunning exteriors in terms of design.

It powers 100 kW battery and 340 hp engine. Expected range of Cadillac Lyric all electric crossover/midsize SUV would be around 312 miles. The vehicle would be available in Opulent Blue Metallic, Crystal White Tricoat, Stellar Black Metallic and Satin Steel Metallic.

Expected Cost of Cadillac Lyric: $59,990 – $62,990

3. Chevrolet Silverado EV

Chevrolet Silverado EV was first unveiled in the CES on 5th January 2022. Silverado would be all electric pickup truck build on General Motors Ultium platform. The detailed specifications are yet not reveled however the top of the line Chevrolet Silverado EV, RST variant will horse a power of 664 hp and will cover 0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds.

4. Chevrolet Blazer EV

Chevrolet Blazer EV would be a midsize SUV which is based on General Motors Ultium platform which is manufacturers latest platform for EVs. It would be offered in various trims including 1LT, 2LT, RS, SS.

All the trims would bear additional features depending upon the price. Whereas the mileage range of vehicle would range from 247 miles to 320 miles for different trims in a single charge.

5. Hyundai Ioniq 6

Hyundai Ioniq 6 EV borne a sporty and stylish exterior and is based on company’s latest electric cars technology. It also has two 12 inches’ screen in the interior with high tech infotainment.

Hyundai Ioniq 6 EV would be available in multiple powertrain and with 2 battery packs of 53 KWH & 77 KWH. The Hyundai Ioniq 6 EV can cover 0-60 mph in just 5 seconds. Single time charging of a vehicle would provide a range of 326 miles.

6. Kia Niro EV

Kia Niro EV is a second generation EV from a Korean manufacturer which is offered in three modes including fully electric, plug in hybrid and traditional hybrid.

It comes with 64.8 KWH battery which offers 253 miles of range in single charge. It produces 201 hp and is available with 10.25 touchscreen for instrument cluster and infotainment system in interiors. Kia Niro EV would be competing with Chevrolet Bolt EUV and Hyundai Kona EV in the price range and offered features.

7. Mercedes Benz EQS SUV

Mercedes Benz EQS SUV, would be available in two variants EQS 450+ (RWD) and EQS 580 4matic (AWD). Both the variants are packed with 107.8 KWH battery and offers range upto 373 miles in a single charge.

EQS SUV is fully loaded with safety features and borne a futuristic design. EQS 450+ variant offers 355 bhp whereas EQS 580 4matic offers 536 bhp.

8. Nissan Ariya

Ariya EV would be first electric SUV car offered by Nissan. Nissan was supposed to launch Ariya during 2021, however due to shortage of raw materials it got delayed. Nissan Ariya EV would be competing with Subaru Solterra in the price range and offered features.

Nissan Ariya EV would be available in FWD and AWD versions whereas FWD offers 238 bhp and AWD offers 389 bhp. Both the variants are packed with 87 KWH battery and offers range of 265 miles in single charge. Along with digital infotainment and instrument cluster it also offers OTA updates.

9. Subaru Solterra

Subaru Solterra is manufactured in collaboration with Toyota would be first electric vehicle manufactured by Japanese automaker. It would be competing with Nissan’s EV Ariya.

Subaru Solterra offers 215 hp and is available with a battery pack of 72.8 KWH which offers 228 miles of range in a single charge. However, there are concerns on the availability of this EV as some states might receive as low as single digit vehicles.

10. Tesla Roadster

Tesla’s second generation Roadster boast a retractable hardtop, AWD and a battery pack of 200 KWH. It can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in only 1.9 second! Isn’t that amazing.

Tesla Roadster offers range of 620 miles in a single charge. It would be available in different variants. The top speed of the top variant is expected to be more than 250 mph. According to Elon Musk, Tesla would start shipping of Roadster in 2023, but recently it was indicated that due to supply constraints it has been delayed again.
